The Power of Manifestation by Julia Holmberg

The last few years I have lost my power to manifest things, or maybe it have just been forgotten and hidden under stress, covid-pandemic and life in general. By writing this article I am reminding myself and you how powerful this tool can be.

When I started out in my first job as an engineer in the manufacturing industry, I was full of motivation and ambition. I had joined a multi-national company, but my current position was based in Sweden. Going into my first performance conversation I had prepared myself well, I had looked how I had fulfilled my goals and also thought about my future aspirations. It was quite obvious that me and my manager was not on the same level in terms of preparations and engagement around my development. I had put that “working abroad” was one of my goals in joining this company. His reply was simply that I should not expect too much. Don’t dream too big…

But I was dreaming big and looked around what the company could offer. So less than two years after that conversation I was on a plane to India for a project in the same company. New position, but same company. Czech Republic and Spain followed suit. Then I started dreaming again.

I moved city, even though I had projects abroad my base was still in Sweden, and the current city was too small for my dreams. I went back to Stockholm and eventually ended up in finance. My travelling continued but was locally around Sweden. I had a great job, great apartment and lots of friends. But something was missing, I wanted to find my person. Through my job I had the opportunity to work with a coach, she coached my on all aspects of my life. We made a plan for both my work life, which was to find a new job, and also my private life. Within a year I had changes in both areas. For my work I wanted to have a role as a people lead/manager. I had said this out load to many people, so when I role was opened up someone gave me a nudge, and then I had my first role as a leader. And I met my person.

I had a good job and I had met my person, life was good. What was great at this point in time was that we started to manifest together. We might not have used the word manifest or even said it out loud. We moved in together in an apartment and we adopted cats. And then we wanted to have a bigger place for us. We talked about the size of the place, where it should be situated and so on. It took some time, we looked all over at houses and plots if we should build something ourselves. Eventually we found our house. It is a bit of a cliché, but we felt at home immediately. Now we have lived here for over 5 years, and our son was born after we moved in. The cats are thriving in the big house, and it has been great during the pandemic with lots of space.

The last few years I have felt a bit lost. Too much stress, a horrible pandemic and the feeling of getting older. But now I am back and want to start dreaming big again and manifest. Now it is not only me, I have my family, my friends, my network. So fun to dream and manifest together.
